Madagascar: Tails of the Wild

Look for lurking lemurs in Perinet, Berenty, Ranomafana, and Isalo sanctuaries

Madagascar, the Land of the Lemurs, is unlike anywhere else in the world! This trip combines unparalleled wildlife viewing and exploration of varied ecological zones along with rich cross- cultural experiences. The Malagasy peoples of Madagascar  originated in India, Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. This incredible synthesis of tradition, religion, and culture created a society striking in its physical beauty and remarkable in its uniformity of traditions. You will see remarkable farming and fishing villages, extraordinary botanical and geological landscapes and have opportunities to purchase unique handicrafts, including rare semi-precious stone and mineral sculpture and jewelry. Your wildlife experience in Madagascar will include encounters with the famous Ringtail Lemurs, but you'll also see the  Golden Bamboo Lemurs in Ranomafana, the White Sifaka and Brown Lemurs in Isalo, and listen for the Indri lemur’s famous song in Perinet. You will see many of the butterflies, birds and colorful chameleons that live here and nowhere else in the world. This is our most in depth exploration of Madagascar.
