Top of Africa-Kili Climb: Crater Camp Route

Reaching the summit of Uhuru Peak via the Western Breach Route requires just as much stamina and persistence as the other routes, but you may be able to camp in the actual crater for a relatively easier ascent day. This route up Kilimanjaro overlaps the other Shira Routes in part and descends via the Mweka Route. Under certain conditions the Western Breach may pose more dangers than other routes and requires adequate acclimatization response of climbers prior to ascending from Lava Tower Camp to Arrow Glacier Camp. You will attempt to reach the summit at dawn from your high camp in the crater.
