    Treasures of the Golden Land

Explore rivers, ruins, markets, and friendly villages of Myanmar

Explore the great monuments and tribal villages of Burma. Travel by Panadaw riverboat down the Irrawady.  Visit village markets, sacred caves, Inle Lake, Buddhist pilgrimage sites, and archaeological wonders in the company of our extraordinary Burmese guide and JOURNEYS Asia Destination Specialist Kerina Rowley.  You will stay in comfortable private hotels and guesthouses that offer honest glimpses of village life and insight into how Buddhist society helps people adapt to a harsh government.  This is a perfect trip for experiencing the real Burma at a time of transition.

Please review our option of preceding this trip with a more adventurous trek in remote northern Burma led by JOURNEYS Director, Will Weber. (See Tiger Trails of Northern Burma for information.)  You may also end your Myanmar trip with a few days on the coastal beaches of the Bay of Bengal.
