Begin with Istanbul and the Bosphorus. Continue to Cappadocia and the region's otherworldly rock formations, cave churches, and ancient underground city of Kaymakli. Visit Konya, the home of the whirling dervishes, and then the spa town of Pamukkale. Explore the Roman ruins at Ephesus, and the mountain town of Sirince. In Fethiye, board a traditional gulet (sailing yacht) for 3 days exploring Butterfly Valley of Oludeniz, and small islands of the Mediterranean.

The pace of this itinerary allows time to partake in the special pleasures of Turkey. Try a hamam (Turkish bath), and relax at a sidewalk cafe with tea or Turkish coffee and some pistachio baklava.

You may choose to extend your stay in Turkey with a 2-day homestay in Ikiztas, one of the few remaining Comakdag villages known for their preservation of architecture, dress and customs found nowhere else in the world.
