Exploratory trips promise only that you will be among the first travelers to experience a new destination or itinerary. It might be a newly-opened trek route in Bhutan, a new wildlife tour of new national parks in Gabon, an experimental trip based on small coffee farms in Nicaragua, or an attempt to link different countries or destinations in an extended theme based trip. You might have to accept some delays, some problems with language, limited food options, uncertain transportation, bad roads, risks to personal safety and limitations on how much luggage you can bring.
