JOURNEYS Association Memberships, Affiliations & Awards

Selected from among hundreds of adventure tour operators worldwide, JOURNEYS was awarded a place on the Top Ten list of Do-It-All operators.
A panel of travel experts and writers selected honorees from hundreds of operators classified in six different categories. As some of you know from the calls you received, the selection process included interviews with trip participants. Thank you for your positive reports that helped us win the award. Other judging criteria included education, sustainability and quality of service.
"Congratulations on an extremely well deserved recognition. My trip last year to Antarctica was another one of a lifetime trips that I have experienced with Journeys. The first was in 1985 to Peru and then to Nepal in 1993. You are the only adventure travel company that I trust to take me to remote cultures and provide a truly meaningful experience. I would have awarded this prize to you after my very first trip. ...Well Done!!!" ~ Chris Force

The Earth Preservation Fund
Since our founding in 1979, the Earth Preservation Fund(EPF) has worked to preserve the resources we enjoy most. Over the past 29 years, the EPF has supported numerous community-based environmental, educational, and cultural preservation programs. Currently the EPF is supporting a traditional cultural school and tree planting in Nepal, library and monastery restoration projects in Ladakh, Conservation in the Galapagos Islands and community based tourism in Kenya. All EPF supported projects are small-scale and community initiated. Rather than working with larger conservation organizations that spend a large portion of their budget on fundraising activities, the EPF looks to support smaller projects where a contribution of up to $500 can make a significant difference. The EPF is a tax-exempt 501(c )3 organization so contributions to the EPF are tax free.
